Sectional Forms Workshop, Mendocino Arts Center
August 23th-24th
Join me on the beautiful Mendocino Coast to make a variety of sectional forms. We will learn how to make forms like two part vases, pedestal bowls, platters and more. We will cover the techniques of throwing larger amounts of clay confidently, designing a two part form, throwing precisely to fit pieces together, and joining sections of multi-part forms. We will cover many different methods of making sectional forms which ultimately result in larger, taller work. This workshop will focus on throwing, and the skills learned in this course will empower students to boldly create sectional work and will be widely applicable beyond the course.
Wheel Throwing for Beginners, Fire Arts Center (SOLD OUT)
Sun 5:30 - 8pm Jun 29 - Aug 17 (8 weeks)
This class is designed for beginning wheel throwing students. Basic wheel-throwing techniques will be taught. The instructor will cover the steps needed to make mugs, bowls, and other forms. Glazing will also be covered.
Figure Drawing Workshop, The Maker’s Space
August 12, 6pm
Join an all-levels opportunity to draw a live model! During the session, the model will hold a variety of poses for differing lengths of time, and attendees will be able to capture them creatively. Our model will have bathing suit/underclothes coverage to allow for kids age 10+ to join with a guardian. There will be brief instruction at the start of each session with tips and tricks for improving your figure drawing, but this is primarily a chance to practice and improve your skills.
